Kitchen Shelf:
Ali had a great idea on how to make the most of our small kitchen. Make a shelf that could store our dry goods and add hooks to spice it up. It turned out great at a very low cost.
Shopping List:
5 Hooks, Bronze
2 Chair Braces, Bronze
1 1x6 Yellow Pine Board, 6'
2 Double Keyhole Fasteners
1 Bottle of Wood Glue (Titebond III, best wood glue ever)
4 Drywall Screws
1 Can of White Paint
Step One:
The first thing I did was cut two 2' 6" sections from the board. You can use a circular saw or miter saw for these two cuts.
Step Two:
I then glued the long edge of board #1 to the surface of board #2. I dropped the #1 down 1" on #2 to give it the T look. You are going to want to clamp these in place to make sure that you get them flush.
Step Three:
After the glue had dried I sanded the edges and painted the project white.
Step Four:
When the paint dried I screwed in the Chair Braces and hooks.
Step Five:
Last of all I put the Double Keyhole Fasteners on the back and measured out where the drywall screws went on the wall.
Just add some cool mugs, flower and sugar and there you go!
